Inspiring Sculptures
We in our studio... Uwe Meints, sculptor and Angelika Jansen-Meints, graduate ceramics designer. We have been living and working in Brüggen on the Lower Rhine since April 2003. Our studios are located on the Klosterstraße in the former Vennmühle building. This is where we implement our concepts and designs.
Stone sculptures, natural stone creatures, stone wells, sculpted ceramic and raku ceramics as well as various ceramic objects and animal ceramics are all part of our repertoire. Our sculpture park with natural stone steles, stone sculptures and animal figures is found on our Klosterstraße site across from the Brüggen water mill. In an idyllic location in the Schwalm meadows, the sculptor's studio of Uwe Meints is found in a large barn of the Vennmühle. Several freestyle sculptures such as modelled portraits in clay and plaster, natural stone figures and stone sculptures are on display in the large courtyard and in the studio.
Next to the gallery and exhibition garden, the ceramics studio of Angelika Jansen-Meints is also found in the Klosterstraße. She creates ceramic vessels and artistic works with the help of a potter’s wheel and using structural techniques. Her pieces are fired in an electric kiln or raku gas kiln. Smoke-fired ceramics, raku pieces, unique artistic works and ceramic crafts are on display in our gallery. Ceramic ravens and kingfishers made of clay as well as other animal ceramics are on display in the exhibition garden. Other exhibits include natural stone owls, stone benches and stone sheep.
