Look, Eat, Marvel – A Stylish Combination of Cultural and Culinary Highlights in Brüggen
Experience the history of Brüggen “with all your senses” during a culinary journey of discovery!
The maid Thekla or the night watchman Hans would like to whet your appetite during a stroll through Brüggen.
While they tell you about the history of the town and share information about places of interest, the three gastronomes Thomas Hoeveler, “Alte Brüggener Mühle”, Timo Vootz, “Torschänke” and Wim Sniekers, “De Pannekoekenbakker” serve up culinary delights.
The hearty three-course meal is sure to satisfy. The tour begins as you are welcomed in the courtyard of Brüggen Castle for an invigorating “Brüggener Burgtropfen” in the casemates. Then the maid or night watchman regales you with entertaining details as you are led to one of the historic eateries where the appetiser is served. After a stay of around an hour, the tour continues until it is time for the main course.
After the ample meal, the route takes you through the downtown area and on a visit to St. Nicholas Church. Then onward to the former “Birxhof”. The courtyard was first documented in 1663 and is now home to the “Pannekoekenbakker”, where the tour ends with a sweet Pannekoeken.
Lasting approximately four hours, the individual group tours include a welcome drink and a three-course menu in various restaurants. Beverages are not included in the price.
This innovative new guided tour is organised for groups of 8 or more persons. The event, an experience for all the senses, is ideal for birthdays, company excursions, friends or acquaintances or just you and a group of guests.
